Visit Gallery Hall, a beautiful mural by local artist Judith Goodrick Heying takes you on a pictorial journey from the glacier period in northern Indiana...to the 1800 period of the Potawatomi Indians. You’ll be able to examine birds, animals, and sea life at your leisure.
Also on display is a wigwam, along with various Native American artifacts. Your guide will describe the difficult life the Native Americans lived and the intelligent ways they found to make the most of it
From Gallery Hall, you’ll pass through a Conestoga wagon display and into the winding brick street of Mishawaka as it may have looked in the mid-1800s. This evocative recreation features Dr. Les Payne’s dental office, a toy store, a general store, the Charles Mish Clothing store, a furnished two-room house, a post office and train station, an old-fashioned church, and an early one-room schoolhouse.
