We have a Post Office complete with letters and postcards. The schoolhouse is indeed a nostalgic setting. Take a seat at one of the time-worn desks and you’ll be transported back in time to an era where children of all ages gathered in the same classroom and were taught by the same teacher. Our classroom, like every shop, office, or residential room in our Old Mishawaka display, features its own period props.
Walk along our winding brick street of Mishawaka which looks as if you have stepped back into the mid-1800s. Our street features Dr. Les Payne's dental office, a toy store, a general store, the Charles Mish Clothing store, a furnished two room house, a post office and train station, an old-fashioned church, and an early one-room schoolhouse. |

| Step through our Japanese culture gate and you’ll enter into the mysteries of a culture markedly different from our own! Welcome to the world of Mishawaka’s Sister City, Shiojiri, Japan! It’s a world of traditional oriental virtues, of grace and serenity. In this exhibit, we have recreated a traditional Japanese house and garden. | |||||||||||
